It was a moderate success at the box office, grossing $212 million worldwide. The film, which cost $150 million to make, was a co-production of 20th Century Fox, Miramax Films, Universal Pictures, and Samuel Goldwyn Films, and released on November 14, 2003. Filming took place on the open sea, on replica ships in the water tanks of Baja Studios, and on the Galápagos Islands. The film was a personal project of Fox executive Tom Rothman, who recruited Weir to helm the project. This is the second onscreen collaboration for Crowe and Bettany, both of whom previously co-starred in 2001’s A Beautiful Mind. The film stars Russell Crowe as Aubrey, captain in the Royal Navy, and Paul Bettany as Dr. The film's plot and characters are adapted from three novels in author Patrick O'Brian's Aubrey–Maturin series, which includes 20 completed novels of Jack Aubrey's naval career. Of course, this depends on the red DDs etc.Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World is a 2003 American epic period war- drama film co-written, produced and directed by Peter Weir, set during the Napoleonic Wars. Just stay between the RPF contact and hydro to spot torps. RPF in combination with the hydro is amazing, as it allows you to screen a flank in randoms early on. AR will give you -5% when you are at 75% HP, below that AR is actually better. MBS is good, but compared to AR it loses. So when you are low HP, your torp reload gets quite a lot better. The constant increase in DPM for losing health is important in DD knife fights (maximum boost is 20% at 0%HP!), and it also boosts torp reload. This is my current 21pt build: modules=11111&upgrades=123221&commander=PCW001&skills=5457968&ar=100&consumables=1111&pos=0ĪR is extremely good and often underrated. I would go with MBS, as the torps have too little range to be your primary means of damage, or wait for another point and go RPF (my preference). I am debating whether Main battery specialist (-5% reaload) or torpedo reload (-10%).
